Mothers Day is the perfect time to surprise Mum or Grandma with home baked goodies. Here are my favourite ideas for how you can make your Mum feel special this mothers day (or any other day of the year!), or if you are the one who needs to be spoilt, forward the link to Dad so he can get the little ones organised in the kitchen!...
1. Get the kid's drawing turned into an edible cake topper!
This has to be the EASIEST cake decorating idea EVER!
Step 2: Print and get the kids to draw mum a picture with their favourite pencils, markers or crayons
Step 3: Scan the picture and email it to email@example.com
Step 4: We will print your child's drawing onto edible icing and deliver/post it to you (FREE delivery within Baldivis!)
Step 5: Add to Mum's favourite cake or cupcake!
2. Breakfast in bed and a rose bouquet
Rosanna Pansino has done it again, with this easy breakfast in bed for mum YouTube tutorial! Use cutters for fruit skewers and use an edible bouquet made from buttercream and #2D tip (with green patty cases) for the decoration.
3. Add a gerbera to a cupcake
Punch cut cutters make it ridiculously easy to make a gerbera, and a single head on a cupcake would make the perfect little treat for Mum (or add it to the above bouquet above). Here is my favourite YouTube tutorials from BonnieBakes!
4. Mothers Day Edible Roses
These stunning red roses from www.goodtoknow.co.uk are far better and cheaper then real roses! Using buttercream with a #2D tip, fondant and a rose leaf punch cutter they will be quick and easy to decorate.
5. Heart Cookies
If you have younger kids, here is a super-easy mothers day treat from www.learning4kids.net. Using a packet mix and cutter, bake some love heart cookies using cutters and dip them in hundred and thousands. Mum will love having these with her Mothers Day cup of tea!
6. Gum Paste Bow for the top of a cake
Bows are much easier than you think! Check out this YouTube clip. We have a special ribbon cutter on our website which helps you keep your lines straight! We also have pattern embossers to help put a beautiful imprint across your ribbon, and dust to help it sparkle...
7. Fondant cupcake toppers
Check out this great new cupcake decorating set from Wilton. Literally just roll out the fondant and press in this gorgeous image! Finish off with some rainbow dust and a gift box and you'll have a super easy mothers day treat on your hands!
8. Mothers day flower cookies
Make a bouquet of flower and heart cookies from out cutters range and top off with some piping gel!
9. Get Mum's favourite photo changed into an edible cake topper
Step 1: Email Mum's favourite photo to firstname.lastname@example.org along with any wording you would like on the cake
Step 2: We will create a proof for your approval
Step 3: Once approved we will print and deliver your edible cake topper photo!
10. Treat buffet for Mum
Another great idea for little children... an easy to assemble treat stand that you can fill with mum's favourite goodies such as cakes, Tim Tams and lollies! We also have cupcake pedestals to make Mum feel extra special!
Hope you find something here to inspire you this Mothers Day! If you have any other great suggestions or you are after some advice for a project you have in mind, please pop a comment below or email email@example.com!
